About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Riverdale, NJ, Flaming Grill stands out as a vibrant buffet restaurant that masterfully blends an impressive array of Asian and seafood delights with a welcoming dining atmosphere. Whether you're craving bold, sizzling flavors from the hibachi grill or fresh, delicate bites from the sushi bar, Flaming Grill offers an exceptional culinary experience for every palate.

Stepping inside, guests are immediately greeted by a clean, spacious setting complemented by attentive, friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance—inviting yet lively—ideal for casual lunches, family dinners, or celebrating with large groups. One of the unique features highlighted by regular visitors is how thoroughly the restaurant accommodates big parties, ensuring everyone’s needs are met without compromising comfort or service.

The menu is a treasure trove of diverse flavors, spotlighting dishes that cater to both seafood lovers and Asian cuisine enthusiasts. The General Tsao Chicken bursts with a harmonious dance of sweetness and tang, perfectly crisp on the outside and tender inside. For those who savor oceanic treasures, offerings like oysters on the half shell, succulent hibachi shrimp, salt and pepper crabs, and well-seasoned fried crab tantalize the taste buds with each bite. The sushi, made fresh to order, boasts silky cuts of salmon and rich eel, delivering an authentic and satisfying experience, while the teppanyaki station brings a fiery spectacle to your plate.

Beyond the main plates, the buffet impresses with its variety—from the crunchy fried dumplings and freshly prepared lo mein noodles to buffet staples like seafood salad and fried wonton chips. Light options such as fresh salads and an assortment of fresh fruits offer a refreshing contrast, and dessert aficionados will appreciate the selection of ice cream, fortune cookies, and assorted cakes to round off a delightful meal.

Many diners have praised Flaming Grill’s meticulous attention to cleanliness and hospitality. As one customer, Edwin Moran, noted, “The place is clean. The staff is friendly. They have a variety of food… a lot of seafood like fish, shrimp and crablegs.” James Lee remarked on the consistently fresh sushi and excellent hibachi, while Erzsebet M expressed appreciation for the multiple food stations and the thoughtful provision of gloves at the buffet. High marks are given not just to the food but also to the staff’s attentiveness and the overall dining environment.

Of course, no establishment is without minor quirks. One reviewer mentioned that the men's restroom could use some attention, but emphasized that it didn't detract from an otherwise outstanding dining experience.

Ultimately, Flaming Grill takes the traditional buffet concept and elevates it through quality, variety, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re indulging in the smoky BBQ ribs, savoring the delicately spiced crayfish, or enjoying endless refills of your favorite dishes, Flaming Grill promises a richly satisfying feast that keeps customers coming back time and again.

Great place, nice atmosphere, appears very clean. The sushi is excellent and fresh, been here plenty of times, honestly only one time the sushi was meh. The hibachi is really good, lots of overall options for everyone.

Great china buffet. Good selection of food. Hibachi station, sushi bar, hot food, many different soup choices, salad bar and many dessert. Love the gloves option by the buffet station. Owner is very friendly, always recognize us and he always remembers where we like to sit.

Very good buffet with an endless selection of all kinds of foods. The place is well kept, and the staff are very friendly. They are more than welcoming to large groups, even 20+ people. Refills are free here as well. If I could, though, I'd give it a 4.5 instead of a 5 since the restrooms, at least the men's room, smells a little... funky. But other than that, it was a great place to go eat. They even have a nice little koi pond in addition to some claw/candy machines by the entrance. Restrooms are located towards the back right-hand side, next to the hibachi section.

This was an amazing buffet based on all the buffets that I have tried in North Jersey and NYC. The fried crab and stone crab were well seasoned and cooked. The staff were amazing and cleaned up after us extremely quickly. I would definitely come back to this buffet another day.

Passed on way going to a local furniture store. Didn’t know buffets were still open. Glad I stopped in. It was lunch time. Was pretty busy $12.99 buffet sushi & hibachi included. Didn’t tell you $3 for unlimited soda but was ok. Food was hot and fresh. And you had to find something you liked. I tried hibachi after a few plates later. Was awesome. No more self serve ice cream. They had ice cream bars & cups as well in a freezer. If in area. STOP BY YOU won’t be disappointed.
